Teaching Practice
Throughout math activity, students were working on worksheets which required cutting and sticking images. Most of the students claim that they forget their own glues and scissors at home. The problem appears when class not supplied with backup materials to be accessed from students. Students start to interrupt each other’s asking for glue or scissor. In an attempt to overpass this situation the teacher ask students to share glues and scissors but it doesn’t effect positively.
Interestingly, this situation had shed light on the importance of classroom management strategies. As a result of the case above, there were a lot of confusion, disruptions and definitely wasting of time. It is absolutely the teacher fault because she might think it's only students responsibility to bring materials. In my point of view, it is also a teacher responsibility to create a productive environment with a well-organized classroom in particular offer essential equipment for the class. It is not accepted to teach without providing necessary materials or without having a second plan for unexpected problems.
In old experiences (1a), I noticed how provide materials and setting classroom perfectly make learning process continue easily and smoothly.
This experience taught me as a student teacher to give priority for establishing clear management strategies in my future classrooms . In general, I will aim to avoid this kind of situations by good preparing before lessons. In addition, I will pay more attention to providing enough materials in a classroom because it effects directly on my performance.
