Reflection 3 (on transitions)

Transitions have an essential role in the whole education process, especially in primary schools.Throughout two weeks, I noticed the importance of transitions appears in many situations during daily schedules. In my opinion, setting up a clear transitions system help to achieve the entire learning goals.Furthermore, transitions effect positively in reduce wasted time and in keep the school's discipline organized.

I noticed that students in primary school benefit from transitions in many ways. For instance, their sense of responsibility enhances to high levels because they realize their duties during changes. Children in this stage of cognitive development, as Piaget mentioned start to overpass their egocentric and develop their social skills. In addition, students become more independent I observed through different transitions how they only need a little guidance from teachers or monitors. Interestingly, in few situations, I found transitions were impractical because there are many complex steps. I believe that transition for students in primary schools should be simple to secure better implications.

When I reflected about transitions I thought how it is helpful for teachers in many ways. For instance, I noticed my MST doesn’t suffer in keep her class organized when students move between centers or to next period. Moreover, transitions help my MST to avoid any misbehaviors between students. In general, transitions were a new concept for me but I discover as a student teacher how it will effect directly on doing my duties during any regular day.
